At the beginning of May 2025, I was given the opportunity to produce a series of reels as well as an image film and a website video for Feinkost Mild – a sandwich bar & Feinkost in Graz with over 65 years of tradition.

The obvious idea was to develop a concept and formulate a director’s vision. I think this step definitely helped me to see the final vision of the project more clearly and to plan the shoot more optimally. We then had a meeting to discuss the production schedule – roughly how many people would be needed and what the requirements were in terms of time and space.

After the first meeting, I started to draw up the shooting schedule (a so-called call sheet, as it is called in typical feature film productions). This included basic information such as address, project name, potential challenges, planned scenes and camera angles.

In the middle of writing, however, I received an update on the schedule: instead of 4-6 hours as originally planned, we had to complete the shoot in 2 hours. At Emporiant, I always try to emphasise efficiency and speed in the execution of projects – especially out of respect for the time of everyone involved and in the knowledge that productions like this often take significantly longer than you initially expect. This is not always the desired situation for entrepreneurs.

That said, Thomas was extremely helpful and really provided great support throughout the production. In addition to great sandwiches and an epic beer selection, Feinkost Mild carries a seal of tradition that extends to the tables themselves.

It was precisely this ‘urban legend’ character that ultimately prompted me to consider the location as a suitable filming location for this project.

After consulting with Thomas, we finally agreed on the Premium Content Package – this package includes:

1 video for YouTube to showcase the bar, the sandwiches, the beer and the welcoming atmosphere.

5 reels, optimised for social media platforms (incl. descriptions, hashtags and location tag, more on that later),

1 image film, intended as a website video,

And considering that I went a little overboard with the ‘Cheers’ recordings, the second take ended up in the final version.

I used my standard setup for this project: Shot with the Lumix GH5 in the V-LOG L, set up as a medium cinema rig.
(I deliberately left out the matte box – mainly because I used modern lenses whose coating does a very good job).
